Fairfax, VA (April 15, 2025) – A high-speed police chase ended in a violent crash on Interstate 66, sending four people, including a Virginia State Police trooper and a young child, to area hospitals.
The incident took place on April 12 during the evening hours, when troopers responded to a suspicious vehicle stopped on the left shoulder of the eastbound I-66 Express Lanes near the 58-mile marker. According to authorities, the driver refused orders to shut off the engine and sped off, prompting a pursuit. As the chase escalated, both the suspect’s vehicle and a pursuing patrol car lost control in the median.
